3.5 stars. I don’t even know what to say. I enjoyed it?! Loved Dean but disliked Cora.

I was so invested and in it I literally couldn’t stop. It was the first time I read this genre and it was intense. I was a bit frustrated and disappointed at some parts of the book but for the most parts it was really good

I’m in tears as I write this because the book was just that good. I’m not one for dark romance, but this was beautifully written. There were many times while reading that I was filled with emotion. I loved this book and I hope others will too.

This book invoked so many emotions in me, conscious and subconscious. I feel like crying myself to sleep this was beautiful. I felt their pain and their fear, their love, grief, acceptance, heartache/break. I loved this book so much it was so good. Dean and Cora deserve everything and more and I loved that they were each other’s lifelines as well as each other’s downfalls. It was a realistic showcasing of the trials of love and I felt like I fell in love just reading it

Well…shit. If you’re looking for a dark romance, look no further. If I said this book isn’t ten types of fucked up I would be lying. So before I get into my review, see if this book is right for you and PLEASE look at trigger warnings.

Okay let’s begin…

Am I obsessed with Cora and Dean? Yes. Was this book absolutely insane? Also yes. It feels so weird to say I enjoyed a book that involved a girl getting kidnapped with her sisters fiancé, but hey, I guess that’s what dark romance does for you.

The story of Cora and Dean is intense. The trauma that they go through together is so hard to explain that if this was real life, I don’t know how someone could survive it. But the revelations they find and the bond they create with one another is what kept me reading.

The book definitely gives an enemies to lovers vibe because for most of their lives they LOATHED each other. But as we all know, loathing tends to lead to love. And the love story between Cora and Dean is also inspiring for others to solve their own trauma before involving themselves in a romantic relationship. The book points out the importance of therapy and loving yourself before someone else.

I enjoyed reading this book, but like I said at the beginning, it is very important to read trigger warnings before dabbling in ANY dark romance.
