While I really enjoyed reading this book and it was all in all an extremely great story, I feel that it lacked a bit in some ways as a series finale. Don't get me wrong; it wrapped everything up quite nicely, but I felt that it was just a bit weak as an ending. That said, all in all, the writing was once again amazing, as was the plot and the mysteries. I especially liked how the tale of the Amazon Rainforest tribe and the Western explorers were incorporated into the story.

This was a car audiobook for my kids and me. Let it be known I cried during the second part of the Epilogue.

The story was entertaining, but I didn't appreciate the unnecessary inclusion of politically charged topics.
Also, (spoiler), why evacuate the base when the oxygen level dropped? Why not wear a space suit indoors where it's safer?
