The story is absolutely wild and the writing isn’t all that great, but it’s very fun to read. Good for trashy beach days.

If I had known this was YA, I probably wouldn't have read it; it was on the new adult fiction shelf at the library. YA is one of those genres I tend not to enjoy. Still, I like reading perspectives on my city from those who rarely come here, and this was a cute, easy read that reminds me how glad I am to have finished high school 20 years ago.

This is not the type of book I typically read, but I'm a big fan of Sara Benincasa, so I thought I'd give it a shot. It actually held my attention, and I finished it in two sessions, which says a lot.

Where is the movie already?! This is a made for movie book and it reads like a coming of age Frat party. HILARIOUS FOLKS! There's cussing, rowdiness, teens behaving badly, teachers who wanna bang each other and drag queens. It's short, witty with balls to the walls absurdness.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a nice mix of teen angst, drama, and humor to make it entertaining. It was an easy, quick read.

This is a delightful, breezy book that should appeal to adult and YA readers alike. Benincasa makes high school tropes modern and interesting, and there's a certain reveal at a drag club that made me gasp out loud.

I enjoyed this light novel about hijinks on a high school trip to Washington DC, although it's indistinguishable from a YA novel and I don't understand why it's in the adult fiction section (profanity? a couple sex scenes? partly from an adult POV?). It's told from the shifting perspectives of three teenage girls and one of their female teachers. I could picture the movie. The teacher is in love with a math teacher, who is sort of an uptight nerd. Together the two teachers are in charge of 16 high schoolers on this weekend trip. It's also got some 'I did research on this museum and now we'll learn about it in my novel' sections, and I thought the ending was a letdown and contrived.
