Review - This is the best of this series that I've read so far - I really enjoyed it. I think that is partly because Rockingham in particular is so interesting in the way that he sees women, and with a mother like his I can understand why to an extent. Lucinda was charmingly innocent and naive but I particularly loved the scene between her and Rockingham when they start throwing things in the fire, I thought that was great!

Genre? - Historical / Romance

Characters? - Julian Marquess of Rockingham / Lucinda Marchioness of Rockingham

Setting? - London (England)

Series? - Regency Royal #5

Recommend? – Yes

Rating - 17/20

Beaton writing regency is reliable, like a Heyer-lite. This one has a few more murders/attempted murders than normal - maybe she was drifting to her other genre a little.

What I absolutely love about this author is she writes in a way that most authors do not. She elaborates little details of the plot that most authors would overlook. She thinks of the most minute detail for example, hair length, and keeps it consistent throughout the story.

Most authors will leave an events unwritten and it takes away from the whole story because you're left wondering why didn't they do this? or how did that happen? This author keeps that in mind and lets the story flow without unnecessary questions cluttering the readers mind.
