Thank you for the review copy via NetGalley. I enjoyed this gentle story that is an ode to small town life. It is somewhat slow paced, like a gentle small sea town itself, and explores a story of second chance love and life in the Low Country. This is recommended for readers looking for a light low steam/low spice story, perfect for a Sunday afternoon with some sweet tea.

Cate is about to start her dream job when an ex-boyfriend returns to town. They still have a connection, but she is hesitant to risk everything a second time. Meanwhile, photographer Knox is back in town and when he meets Kate, there is an undeniable spark.

This was a sweet, summery romance. I loved the setting of Gull Island; this would be a great read for summer vacation! Something about small, seaside towns makes sweet romance that much sweeter. If you enjoy clean, second chance romance, you may like this one. Thank you to Getredpr, Wild Rose Press and Jennifer Vido for the ARC! “Serendipity by the Sea” is out now!

This is a sweet second chance romance between Cate and Knox. They went their separate ways when Knox left town to pursue his dream and Cate stayed in the quaint town of Gull Island. Now, Knox has returned to help care for his uncle. Their feelings are still there, but Cate can't risk her heart if Knox leaves again.

There is a lot of setting description in this book. A little too much. I would have liked less of that and more focus on the romance between Knox and Cate. It is kind of slow paced for a relatively short book, too.

Thank you to Get Red PR for a gifted copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I received a gifted copy of Serendipity by the Sea for review. Thank you Wild Rose Press!

I just finished the book and I find that I am pleasantly surprised. When I started, I was a bit turned off by the writing style; at times overly detailed, a little cringy, sometimes unrealistic in terms of conversation points. BUT, as I read more, and got to know the characters, I didn’t notice those things anymore. It was part of their personality, their lifestyle. In this book, you get to know each character intimately. I loved the community on Gull Island and the love and support everyone shows each other. Jennifer Vido has built a place that any reader would love to visit. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!

This was a great second chance romance on what sounds like an amazing island!

Cate and Knox were dating years ago until Knox left to pursue his dream of being a world renowned photographer. He comes back to the island to help his uncle through a surgery recovery. He almost runs into Cate immediately and feelings come back.

Cate is such a great woman. She's really good at her job, loves the islands so is amazing as a guest services rep, and was very brokenhearted when Knox left. So she guards her heart for as long as she can.

The island has this treasure hunt tour thing to get to see the island and when Cate and Knox team up, they get closer again. When an opportunity comes up for Knox, it was nice to see how struggle between following his dream or staying with his love.

This was a cute small town second chance romance between Cate and Knox. I enjoyed the setting of Gull Island and the laid back vibe of the story.

I really wanted to see the romance develop between Cate and Knox and it just wasn't there. All of their interactions seemed rushed and not enough for me to buy it.

I felt the story got too much into details on the Cate's job and the scavenger hunt which felt unnecessary. I wished that time was spent on developing the romance.

If you enjoy small town romance with no steam, this one is for you.

Thank you @getredprboooks for a copy of the book.
