Sexy but disconnected
I liked this book, but I can't say I loved it.
There was a huge disconnect between Creighton and Holly. There was no real character development which bothered me. Plus Holly was just an annoying heroine full stop. She was constantly contradicting herself and that got irritating after a while.
I wasn't a huge fan of Creighton's obsession with straight up banging her like she was god's gift to men or something. Also the scene with the whiskey? Um no thanks!
I did like March's writing style so I'll read the rest of the series, but this didn't exactly wow me. Plus I want to know what happens after the cliffhanger 🤷🏻♀️

This went from cute to abusive really fast.
He's 33. She's 22, but she "looks 16" according to him, and it's gross how much he loves that about her. He loves how innocent and "trainable" she is, it's predatory. They have a whirlwind marriage that she concedes to purely because she feels like she has no other options, and he immediately begins to exert control over her. He doesn't value her consent at all. He even says "there's nothing you can do to stop me" when talking about things she's uncomfortable with.
I get this is a fantasy, but it's not one I would ever want to live through. 2 stars instead of 1 because the beginning was fun, and I did enjoy some of the spice.

Droppei nos 45%, protagonista chata, achei o casal sem química e o smut ruim. Eles casaram absolutamente do nada e não deu pra entender os motivos dele. Fraco demais, foi decepcionante demais pra mim que amei a Mount Trilogy. Mas devia imaginar que seria assim quando a protagonista era uma cantora country..

Very spicy with a good plot too! I think this was a bit short but I guess if it's carried on as a series then it's ok. I'd recommend this!
