I wanted to DNF this early but I didn't only because it's fairly short. The writing is poor, and I'm not convinced the author has ever met a real person. If I ever hear the name 'Mae West' again, I will scream.

I listened to this as read by Johanna Parker because I love her reading of the Sookie Stackhouse books so much. I'm pretty certain that if I had read this on the page I would have given it only two stars, and while Parker's narrative deserves five, I can't justify that here. The story was incredibly entertaining, but so riddled with mistakes, even while listening, that it was a bit distracting.

Mae West is divorced from a man in prison for a Ponzi scheme. Although Mae has become used to the finer things in life as his wife, they are all gone now and she heads to Kentucky in a trailer to the one possession she has left, thanks to aforementioned ex, a trailer court. Sorry, RV Court as she prefers it to be called.

Mae's attorney showed her a brochure that made the court seem beautiful, so Mae plans on a rest and relaxation period, and then selling the court. She arrives to something very different.

I was very entertained by the town and it's citizens. I'm not sure how much this had to do with Parker's narration, but it really reminded me of Charlaine Harris's writing. Maybe even a little of Billie Letts or Fannie Flagg. I will definitely keep listening to these as I have seen there are many in the series, but just for fun. I'm certainly not looking for insight or knowledge of any kind!
