The sequel to Rush and Blaire's story. Here we have some more crazy Nan, Rush's wicked sister who hates Blaire just because, and we're introduced to Dean, Rush's father, Kiro, another band musician, and Harlow, Kiro's daughter. It's like a bunch of misfits and a sane person or two. I found Dean Finlay almost normal except he's a randy old man who likes to fool around with very young women, but he has normal feelings towards his son and hence towards Blaire and the baby. There were a couple scenes in Dean's mansion in Hollywood that were funny because the old men were too much. I loved Harlow, she's like an old fashioned girl, very shy and sweet. I hope she gets a book! Most of the book is about the development of Rush and Blaire's relationship, but there are very intense parts with Nan and her shennanigans. I joined the group of characters who wanted to bitch slap her, she was so psycho mean and irrational. This plot line was not finished in this book, so I guess we'll see more Nan in the next books. And there was some transition material involving Woods and Della so I guess they're the next book.

Except for the sex scenes, which I find repetitive, this was a great read.

blaire was weak, a doormat, too sensitive (i get she’s pregnant but geez) however, she got better towards the end of the book. i didn’t like how she always chose to run away instead of facing her problems. rush, odd, very loving, and caring though. he was smitten by blaire and i appreciated his efforts and the way he loved her was adorable. however, this boy needs to get his priorities straight.

nan, this bitch is insane. periodt. she was a waste of time. woods, a sweetheart, deserves better, more of a man than rush, didn’t break promises. i’m so happy to hear he’s getting his own HEA.

the ‘big’ secret was revealed at a weird timing. blaire not understanding that it’s not rush’s right to reveal her secret was annoying. the fact alone that she was there for four months before she got knocked is mind-blowing. their chemistry felt rushed in the first book but slowly morphed into commitment. i swear there was incest going on…?! with nan and grant?? how were they not freaked out???

the pace of the book felt rushed. sentences were awkwardly written like i can’t imagine a real human speaking like that. characters repeated words - in monologues and verbal speech marks. too much repetition.

to be honest, rush’s love for blaire was the only thing that made me want to finish this series. it’s a cute story with perfect intimacy scenes but characters are too hollow for me personally and i felt like the story could have had a different antagonist instead of that crazy bitch. like for example, cain would have been a perfect candidate but eh. anyway, the series was a good pickup to read for boredom.

It's probably just me, I think I've outgrown this series. Didn't love it.

I have mixed feelings about this one. I loved Rush and Blaire in the first two books so of course I was going to read the last one.

Sometimes it was a bit repetitive to me. All the Nan drama (seriously, I hate that girl) felt forced, like a filler you have to include in the story to add some "excitement", when in reality, Rush and Blaire's relationship alone had the potential to be interesting enough without the constant appearance of the bitchy sister. She was inmature, annoying, and such an attention whore. Worst part is, once again, Rush bought it.

But anyway, Abbi Glines is a great author, and I love her writting. And Rush was one of my favorite parts about the story. Okay, sometimes I also thought he grew a vagina, but overall he was manly enough to have me swooning over him. He was so sweet and caring.

The characters development was another good thing. It was nice to meet Dean and Harlow, even Kiro. Also Captain, I'm very curious about him.

Once again, Woods and Grant stole my heart. I loved seeing tiny bits of their respective stories in between. I can't wait to read Grant's book, he is a hottie.

The thing I think is missing is an Epilogue. I would have loved to see a few years ahead into Rush and Blaire's lives. I really hope we get one as an extra scene someday, maybe when all the stories are finished.

Nailed it! What an ending to a journey…

“I’d tell you how special she is but you already know that. Because you do is the only reason I can hand her over to you. I asked you to be the man I couldn’t be, and you did as I asked. Not for me but for her. I couldn’t be prouder of the woman she’s become and the man she’s chosen to spend her life with.” ~Abe (Blaire’s dad)

All I can say is I love Rush Finlay and want one of my very own. He is so fuckin’ sexy and such a bad boy gone romantic. Who wouldn’t want one????? Blaire is awesome. She’s so strong and sweet. Sometimes she forgives too quickly, but with Rush, how could you not. This book has some smoking hot sex scenes in it and some of the best romance I’ve ever read. If you liked the other two books you’ll like this one! It has all of the same great characters in it, including a couple of new ones (I honestly think that one was thrown in just so he could have his own spinoff since I really didn’t see his purpose)…and then the one character that totally sucks balls.

Seriously Nan, if I never read your name again, it will be too soon!!!

Anyhow, back to the people I love…

“ “I didn’t wipe away the tears on my face because they weren’t all sad. Some were happy. Some were thankful and some were memories.” ~Blaire

My Blaire:

My Rush:

“When I’d first laid eyes on him I’d been awed at his beauty. Never had I thought that the moody playboy could have a heart the size of his underneath all that swagger.”

K, just one more....

Oh my, the wedding, the whole thing was beautiful and romantic. I don’t know if I’ve read anything so beautiful. Reading this, makes me want a wedding just like it. So, I’ll say it again, Blaire is one lucky lady!!!!!

And yes I went and bought the damn song!!! It was beautiful and made me cry and I listened to it on repeat!

“This is our family now. Mine and yours. We decide who we let in it.” ~Rush

I’ll miss you Rush and Blaire, but I’m sure I’ll see you again. Abbi has a way of weaving her stories beautifully between books. Damn girl, great job Abbi!!!!

SpoilerI began with the first book and moved through to the third book in less than a week. I was hopeful that the next book would redeem itself, and each time I was disappointed. Now at the end of the trilogy, I can finally speak to how much I disliked these books.

Rush is ridiculously dramatized as an overdramatic and possessive boyfriend/fiancé/husband. He "growled" so many times it would take quite a while to count, and is constantly putting his hands on Blaire and getting jealous when she even spoke with her male friends. Something about that screamed unhealthy to me, but I assume a lot of women aren't put off by a smothering, growling man in the same way that I am, as illustrated by the popularity of the books.

Blaire is equally, if not more, overdramatic than Rush and "pitches fits" when he puts his family before her, even running away from him on several occasions. Some of them I thought were "justified," while others seemed to be placed merely to cause worry in the reader that they wouldn't end up together. The pregnancy was predictable as writers typically don't make it a point to mention that protection was not used unless there was a valid reason.

The Nan drama was the worst of the book. The slow reveal of who she was and the motivation for her actions took a long time to culminate, and then it was simply swept away from the reader when it is revealed that Kiro is actually her father instead of Abe. I understand the author was probably just trying to throw a curveball, but so much of the story was built on this base that it didn't make much sense to change it. Nan's attitude was straight up juvenile and I don't think any self-respecting person ever acts that way. Instead, Nan appears to me as the stereotypical characterization of a mean girl, stooping to consistent lying and name calling without ever having a truly human moment. I also was a bit concerned with her relationship with Rush. Her excessive dependency on one person and extreme jealousy towards Blaire and eventually their child was unnerving and seemed misplaced.

I also have to wonder why there were so many ancillary characters which were given a pinch of backstory that never became central to the storyline. I don't know if this was to add length or because the author thought we needed to know these unrelated details. Captain was a perfect example, as he was introduced as Blaire's brother but then never appeared in the story again.

All in all, it was my means of entertainment for the past week but I'm glad that I have now finished and can safely say that I have given the series and the author a fair chance before writing them off.
