It took me a long time to finally continue this series, I think I was putting it off because I just didn’t want it to end but I’m so happy to be back in the world of Eddie Flynn.
There’s such a cozy and familiar feeling that I associate with this series that I know I’ll deeply miss when I’m done with it 🥲💔 but at least it’s ongoing so hopefully we’re getting 20 more 🤞🏼
As with every book in this series, I couldn’t put it down. Yes, it took me a while to finish it but that’s just how my reading is recently, but the book itself was so entertaining and gripping that after every chapter I needed to know what happens next.
Right from the start, there was so much suspense and mystery and there are little twists and surprises in every few chapters that made me die from curiosity.
I loved how there were 2 mysteries unfolding simultaneously but honestly, I thought it was pretty obvious from the beginning how they’re related.
And as usual, I loved Harry & Eddie’s friendship. I love their banter and their care for each other is very wholesome. We’re also introduced to one of my favorite characters, Harper, which I already knew and loved because I started this series at book 4 but it was still nice to see the start of her friendship with Eddie.
And of course, there are multiple plot twists and when I was nearing the end, I thought I figured out the big twist and was kind of disappointed at how predictable it was but Steve Cavanagh pulled another twist that absolutely shocked me and it’s what made this a 5⭐️!!
When I say this series is the epitome of a perfect thriller, I mean it. It has everything I could possibly want from a thriller; insane and unpredictable twists, it’s action-filled, the characters are realistic, the writing is easy, engaging, and funny, it reads like a crime show that you can picture in your head, and so much more. I love this series with my whole heart and I can’t wait to continue it but also want to savor it for as long as possible 🫶🏼
