This was my first book from Eden Emory and I was drawn in. Quinn and Blake have such an interesting dynamic. The banter is sexy, and the plot had me dropping my jaw almost as much as the spicy scenes.

My biggest issue is that this felt like it could have been 100 pages shorter. There seemed to be unnecessary filler events. It overtook the actually really interesting plot and diluted it. I was also a little confused on the timeline. It didn't seem super clear. Despite my critiques, if you're looking for a sexy forbidden, sapphic dark romance, this was so good.

Synopsis: Quinn is given a mission, get information from Blake and take her out. Quinn is a trained assassin who never had trouble with a mission… until her. Blake is a secret service agent with a secrets until Quinn shows up to exploit every single one of them

What I liked: The whole enemies (kind of) to lovers dynamic was well written. Quinn and Blake are seemingly opposite attracts, until you realize further in in the book that they’re not that different after all. Quinn’s growing obsession with Blake was just so cute. The spice scenes are 🔥 and very well written for a sapphic novel.

What I didn’t like: I almost DNF’d because the beginning of the book seemed a bit all over the place and convoluted. The story eventually came together and it turned out to be a great story overall though! I’m usually not one to knock down ratings due to grammar or spelling, unless it’s extensive, and I noticed 7 or 8 times in the book where it got brushed over in the editing process. Bad grammar really messes with the flow of the book.

❤️Tropes: FF, BDSM, voyeurism, pet play, exhibitionism, primal play, MC w/a filthy mouth, orgy

⚠️Triggers: stalking, impact play, gun play, abandonment, murder for work, murder for pleasure, gore, PTSD, body horror, dubcon, degradation, domestic abuse, fisting, on page suicide (implied)

A perfect end to the series! Everything about this one was perfect. It delved into darkness just as equally as it increased in spiciness. In the other Club Pétale books, we get glimpses of Blake but nothing like this. This dive into Blake's character is just as intense and fascinating as a reader expects, and of course the other cast of Club Pétale make their appearances so there are some familiar faces. Absolutely loved everything about this book. While it's sad to see the series end, this book was a fantastic ending!
I honestly just love Blake so much. She literally couldn't be any cuter (and dangerous), and Quinn is perfect for her in their own messed up way.
The peanut butter? Babygirl activity (respectfully)

A f/f dark romance book. This kind of theme is more common on m/f relationships so I was ecstatic to read this! Quinn and Blake are a lovely couple, a ride or die scenario. I love the plot; how their current situations brought them together, the hesitations with their feelings. Their inner thoughts/monologues are written so good that you will feel an ache in your heart when you feel their pain.

What struck me the most was Blake's secrets, the deeper I read the more her story gets unraveled -- she just wants to be free from them, from her past. And so did Quinn. I love how both of them are strong women who is willing to fight for one another. I love how there is still a plot and not just spice. You get to know the characters and their intentions.

The spicy scenes are just 😩👌. P-E-R-F-E-C-T. Perfect. You could feel the tension, feelings, the want for each other. I will definitely read more of Eden Emory's works. I don't give full 5 stars so easily but when I do, I mean it. This is worth the read specially if you are looking for a wlw spice 💚
