So,what can I say about this book? It was perfect in every way.
It's the first book I've read by Jodi Picoult and I have to say that I loved it to bits. Her writing is amazing and it can give you so many different emotions.
But let's get back to this book. The plot was unusual and very interesting.
When I first read the cover of the book and it said: ''Your daughter says she was raped. But the man she's accused was her boyfriend. What would you do?''
Well,as a young girl who isn't a parent yet,I'd definitely do anything to save my daughter and that's what Trixie's dad did.
Moreover, the book had a fast pace and it was very easy to read.I also loved Trixie's relationship with Willie in the end of the book. However, the end was shocking and it just made me stare at the book for 10 minutes in order to realise what I had just read.
In other words, the book was amazing and I'd totally recommend it to everyone! :)

When I first read this one around 15 years ago, I remember not loving and adoring it like I do other Jodi's. I've always wanted to go back and re-read to see if my opinion might change, and I finally had the chance to do that on a trip this week. The story focuses primarily on a father/daughter relationship. When there is a traumatic event involving Trixie (the daughter), everything is thrown into disarray. In addition, there are some subplots with even more character drama and such. This one just goes a lot of different directions, especially in the last 1/4 of the book, and it almost just has too many things. All these years later, this one hits the same as it did back when, but I'm glad I gave it another go to know that for a fact.

I really enjoyed this book. It had an interesting storyline and continuously held my interest.

I noticed that some other folks reviewing this book are commenting on the writing itself. When I read, I read to entertain - I'm looking for an interesting story that doesn't get boring at any point throughout the book. Sure, when it comes to writing skill, proper use of grammar, punctuation, and impeccable spelling is a MUST. Aside from that, I'm not looking for a literary masterpiece. If I wanted to pick apart and judge writing, I'd take a literature course at university. I'm not going to, because I have no interest, so I read entertaining stories.

At first, I didn't enjoy this book at all. I actually put it down and read a couple novels in between finishing this one. I like the idea of mixing a graphic novel with a traditional text. The raising action really got to me and helped me pick the book back up and continue reading. Sadly the ending wasn't satisfying for me this time. I wanted more. And the age of the daughter...she should have maybe been at least 16. Don't know why that bothered me so much. But, 3/5.

This book was great to start off with and I found myself unable to put it down, but as it drew near the end there were just way too many plot twists. It would have been a fantastic book, and likely one of my favorites, had she just taken one of the plot twists and ran with it and made it bigger but the fact that it seemed to be plot twist after plot twist just was a little much for me. *spoilers start here* The idea of her running away and going from Main to Alaska was very far fetched to me and ruined the ending of the book. I was hoping for an actual court case of the initial rape to occur but due to the plot twists I was left disappointed.

I was very hopefully when I began this book...and then they ended up in Alaska. There were so many holes in the last bit of the book that I was severely disappointed...I also felt like once they got there, I was reading an entirely different book. Not only that but she slammed on the breaks and was just like, okay mom did it and the end. I love Jodi and her writing, but this one was a bit of a disappointment
