I am so glad that we got a little deeper into Chaol's heart and mind. What with all that's going with with the rest of the players in this wild game of chess, I felt like I needed to know what was happening with him, both as a character as as a piece in the game who just might have more to offer than he--and some others--think he does.
I was not disappointed.

I loved this one. The setting reminded me so much of Daevabad, and I loved being there. I really liked the character arcs and love stories that we got to see in this one too. I think the tandem read of Empire and Tower together is the way to go even though I fell just a bit harder for this book over Empire.
