I was extremely disappointed with this story. It 97% felt like romanticizing abuse.  Once again, I followed the hype and felt that maybe my feelings were because I'm not the target audience. Or do I know too much? I am unsure how this is one of the more popular colleen hoover books.

This book and author have been spoken about a lot online. Both good and bad , there is a lot of controversy but I had to see for myself.lt’s a difficult topic, but a very real one and a very real situation for many real people (which is also mentioned in the author’s notes). I’m so glad for the ending, I think it’s definitely a book for older readers due to the topic and understanding of the challenges with it. The book could easily be misread as romanticising the situation but I believe it’s an honest and raw account of the realities of dealing with DV; what makes the situation so difficult is that to the people in that moment … it’s not black and white and the book does such a good job of showing and explaining what DV is really like. A heartbreaking harrowing story that many women have to go through in reality.
