This is by far the worst book I’ve ever read. It is not good at all. Anyone who says otherwise needs serious help. While the writing is somewhat decent, the content is absolutely deranged and bring a bad reputation to horror as a genre. The writer should be on a watchlist somewhere, there’s no excuse for a fantasy such as this other than pure untapped (as far as I’m aware) evil.

On a less academic note, I had to hug my mom for an hour after reading this. Not in a funny “ha-ha this book should be a horror reading challenge” but in a serious “this triggered me in a way that antidepressants cannot combat” kind of way. Terrible. Can’t rate it low enough.

It started out good and then just turned into something horrible and disturbing.

It was alright for how little time it took to make but it did feel rushed just for a quick release

Like 'Playground' another book I wish I had never ever read. Hitch-hiker makes family torture each other in horrendous ways with the promise of survival if they do as they're told. Makes me feel sick knowing I read this and wish I could forget it. Do yourself a favour and don't read.
But again, the author achieved what they wanted I guess.

This was my first “extreme horror” experience. I think this is a good book to test the waters to see if it’s a genre you’re interested in. I sort of lost the immersion with some of “The Man’s” speech earlier on. It definitely hit the mark with what it was trying to be but I’m also unsure if I can give it 5 stars due to the content. I’m definitely interested in exploring the genre further though.
