This excellent compilation of primary sources and scholarly contextual information forms an incredibly helpful and well-organised sourcebook for anyone interested in the lives of women in ancient Greece and Rome. Although admittedly a bit dry at times, the book manages to encapsulate in only 400 pages what is a veritable wealth of information as a reference for an academic or even an ambitious layperson.
