if i ever end up falling in love with someone & got married, i’m just going to quote rumi’s poetry as wedding vows bc… wow. stunning. beautiful. extraordinary.

It is marvellous how the words and thoughts and feelings of a poet who died more than 700 years before my birth can touch my heart in such a way.
I can only imagine how vastly superior the original words in Persian might be but I just loved these poems.
An Excerpt:
"Perhaps the time will come
when you will tire of kisses.
I shall be happy
Even from insults from you.
I only ask that you
keep some attention
on me"

I've read some other translations of Rumi's work, and although these were similar...they didn't feel like previous works I've read.
