I really wanted to like this because it seems like something I'd enjoy but the writing was just BAD. Repeated thoughts/phrases/words (even within the same paragraphs and sometimes even sentences! I seriously lost count of how many times supers were referred to as gods/goddesses and the phrase "thank you very much" was used, amongst others), no personality outside of the usual hero and complicated villain, no emotional connection in the romance, commas used where hyphens would have made more sense, and the phrase "turned off of"... "Off of" doesn't actually make sense in the English language and it always bothers me to read it but "turned off of" is literally the example my English teacher gave us to show how little it makes sense. I only didn't DNF because I was interested in how everything would work out but honestly I don't think it was even worth it. CAWPILE balanced that out for a 2.5 ⭐ though I guess.
EDIT: I'm going to have to continue this series though because apparently we get somehero to villain in later books which is my weakness...
