When I came across this book, I chuckled to myself because I thought the main male character was going to be modeled after Jason Momoa - it was exactly that. Named Jeremiah Makoh, the male character is an actor who stars in a series as a god (Poseidon, no less) and has two kids and is going through a public divorce. He's known for his love of Hawaiian culture and has a man bun, complete with the pink scrunchie that Jason is so well known for.

Jeremiah stumbles upon Emma during her vacation to Hawaii and within a day, it seems that he completely falls for her. She is a full-figured woman with a complicated history which is a central concept in the story. There are a few steamy scenes that were nice and ultimately, there is a HEA. Unfortunately, the book reads a lot like fan fiction and I found a few developmental and grammatical errors throughout. The scenes/storyline can seem jumpy at times and certain chapters seem to stop and start abruptly.

Do not read if you're looking for America's next great novel. However, if you are looking for an easy-read romance and are a fan of Momoa, this is your book. It is pleasant enough and it was what I expected it to be. However, I don't think I would read it again.
