Good book. Quite predictable but I think teens will like it. Deals with grief, guilt, and love.

Loved this story about two teens in grief and failing to deal with the guilt associated with a death of someone close to them. Petula and Jacob meet in group art therapy, populated by other Breakfast Club type characters (and even they joke about that). There are issues of trust, broken friendships, and more. The crafting done by Petula and Rachel stands in as a metaphor for making something new and different using ordinary or broken things, but the crafting itself figures in Petula's tragedy, so I liked that juxtaposition.

And being a person with deep pessimistic DNA, this story spoke to me.

I went into this book completely blind and had no idea what to expect. It ended up being a quick and easy read. It had a good storyline and kept me interested. I really enjoyed the book but wasn't a fan of how it just ended
I needed more of the story.

Either YA publishing is going crazy for this tragedy + self-hatred + love story combo at the moment, or I'm just picking up a lot of books with those elements. Not a criticism mind, I've known what to expect each time - and I do enjoy a bit of sad!YA every now and then.

This one is probably my favourite of the ones I've read - mostly because of the fact that it features a cat-adaptation of Wuthering Heights. Genius. Also crafts, more cats and a Moomin reference.

If you liked Our Chemical Hearts and Not If I See You First, this will be up your street.
