You know that feeling when you really want to LOVE a book, but you only LIKE it, and the fact that you didn't LOVE it makes the fact that you only LIKED it even worse? That's kind of what this was like.

I really liked the first book in this duology a LOT, and was hoping that this one would give me the same feel, but unfortunately it never really hit. The pranks were fun, the chemistry was there, but it all felt kinda forced - and the enemies to lovers part of it was especially forced. I spent a good portion of the book not understanding the origin of the animosity between the two MCs, and by the time it's explained (which was a valid explanation) it had been too long in coming to have the impact it was supposed to.

I still loved the writing, and I loved how real the characters felt - but the length of the enemies to lovers part kinda drove me bonkers. (Also it's pretty insta-love-y as soon as the enemies part is done, for those that aren't a huge fan of that.)

I'll definitely keep reading Sarah Adams, because her books feel like a great big hug and I genuinely enjoy the way I feel reading these characters' stories - but this one wasn't my favorite.

I really didn't like the first book, so I was a bit hesitant at the start of this one but I'm so glad I pulled through!

Drew and Jessie's relationship developed so beautifully and especially Jessie's POV's made this so much more than your typical enemies-to-lovers.

They had pranks, they had fights, they had cuddles and kisses, it was something of everything and at the end I was just constantly "aww-ing" 🥰

This book was everything!

I already liked Jessie and Drew from the first book but now I love them. I loved everything from their hatred if each other and their prank wars all the way to their PDA and love for each other. It was SO much fun to follow them through all the phases of their relationship. I truly don't think I've ever laughed out loud during a book as much as this one.

Adams really put her characters through a lot in this book and it was neat to see how they evolved through the pages. As they opened up with each other I just grew to love them more and more.

The romance in this book is steamy but it stays closed door. If you are super conservative it might be too much for you but I thought it was fantastic and truthfully quite realistic while still being clean.

This book is going to ruin me for all other romcoms for awhile and give me a serious book hangover.
