I did not care for the child neglect and abuse at the beginning of the book. The cousins are meant to be unlikeable, but it is infuriating the level of neglect and emotional abuse that the main character goes through.

Ahhhh finally for the first time in far too long I have read this book again. It was a strange experience listening to it vs. reading it and I think I prefer reading it myself BUT I’m just happy to be reminded of this story and to be in the wizard if world again.
