I read this with awake eyes but enjoyed reading it with tired eyes. I think Poe's prose worked better on my bus ride home after a long day surrounded by gothic architecture. I think Roderick could have done well if he'd read a YA novel, maybe he would have liked Hunger Games and his madness would have been freed. I look forward to reading more of Poe as his writing is quite spookily descriptive. I would have liked this to have been longer and may watch the series adaptation.

Listened to this while doing a Lego set. Interesting, if a little confusing. I really like Edgar Allen Poe but I don’t think this is my favorite thing he wrote. Good listen for the Halloween season.
