I picked this up because it was marketed “for fans of My Dark Vanessa” but this was a huge disappointment and shouldn’t be compared to MDV at all. This was written like a vacation thriller.
While I can appreciate some of the general themes, Good Husbands tried to take on too much.The commentary on elitism at the end irritated me so much. This whole book is about the consequences of a sexual assault…the trauma of he said, she said, and the last thing this author wants to leave readers on is that you need privileged people to open doors for you? Unbelievable.
The writing was meh and the characters were poorly developed. I probably should have DNF’d this but I kept expecting it to get better. Honestly as I write this review my rating keeps getting lower.
