This is hardboiled Southern noir right here. You’ve got calloused men, bad women, and the tension is thicker than the Deep South’s humidity. There ain’t a wasted moment in this novel and you’ll be praying for it not to end. You can stand Nathan Waymaker right alongside Easy Rawlins and Dave Robicheaux. He’s a franchise man and I’d read every book.

Brr. Bloody, violent. There were times it felt choppy but it was interesting for sure and I like his overall style, will for sure try his more recent ones.
