What can I say. I love this book. I didn’t expect to like this book as much as I did. People have been telling me to watch the movie for awhile but I wanted to read the book first. There were a few parts that were pretty confusing. It starts off in the present then goes back through flashbacks. I honestly didn’t expect all of the twists in the book. There was a lot of foreshadowing but I just thought the book was going to be about something completely different than it was.
The book has so many strong themes along with such complexity that I didn’t expect. I think when you really dive deep into this book, you see all of the critiques about society. Some large themes include anti consumerism, enlightenment, rebellion, violence, masculinity, etc. There are different things people can take from this book and the way they interpret it. For me it was really about society, capitalism and the lack of meaning in peoples lives. People need to find what they feel strongly about. What hill are you willing to die for?

This is one of those rare times I think the movie was actually better than the book. 😬 Had a hard time following as I read and I just wasn’t very invested. It was interesting to see how the book and movie differ…but I’m not sure I would’ve gone on to watch the movie if I had read the book first.

I think you begin to like Fight Club a lot better when you realize it's a love story, amongst everything else. And what an amazing one it is.
