Sarah Morgenthaler brings us back to the town of Moose Springs, Alaska, where River Lane is trying to film a documentary about the beautiful but tourist-unfriendly town. There, she meets Easton, a local mountaineering guide who's Graham's best friend. He meets River when he sees her walking down the road, and stops to help, not realizing that she's filming, not hitchhiking.

After several false starts, River decides that the only way to get paid for her work - the documentary is 'pay on delivery' since no one has successfully filmed a documentary in Moose Springs for the Tourism Board - is to film her and her team climbing Mount Veil, fourteener just outside the town. Since this is romance novel, Easton ends up as her guide.

A good portion of the book takes place on the slopes of Mount Veil, with River, Easton, and River's film crew climbing the dangerous mountain. There's an adorable marmot that takes a shine to Easton, and several harrowing passages describing the climb.
