I was quite pleasantly surprised by this book. Initially I thought it was going to be another cliché YA novel but it wasn't. At least not as much as I was expecting. Alright, the main character does get with the mysterious new girl, there are John Green type quotes and why is everyone so boho? But the ending resolved in a very unexpected (at least for me) way.

Schneider does a good job of portraying Ezra's confusion about separating who he's supposed to be from what everybody expects him to become - which is probably why I didn't like him at first. He was just so passive and bland before his world got shaken up.

I didn't like Cassidy either initially because she seemed like Little Miss Boho Perfect but she became much more real and tangible as a player in Ezra's story (though I still don't like her much).

I really liked the ending. I always love when characters take their lives in their own hands - Ezra can be a strong, sassy, independent man! He don't need no lady to shine! Props for the amount of puns in this book as well.

The other characters could have been developed a bit more, though. The relationship I was most invested in was between Ezra and his poodle Cooper tbh.

I expected this to be much worse than it was. Paper towns knockoff but so well written

Very run of the mill story. Got annoyed with the main character right away, the love interest is 'not like other girls' which I'm tired of. Also YA cont hasn't worked for me for some time, so it has to be something different for me to want to continue. I don't think this book will be it.
