Sooooo... did Talia Hibbert write this book for me, specifically? Just wondering, haha. I mean, another plus-size protagonist, yess, and this one is into CRYSTALS and WITCHCRAFT???? I was feeling it on that alone, but then the love interest had anxiety? And they had AMAZING chemistry and there was FAKE DATING and they worked through all their issues and GAH, it was so good.

Also, the author is very clearly familiar with twitter because all of the "tweets" at the starts of the chapter actually looked realistic. Like they came right from twitter. Usually when books try and reference social media slang and such it comes off stilted, or they don't even try, but this was perfect.

Man I wish the third one was out already.

Sadly, I had to dnf it, because the moments that were supposed to be funny, I found not funny at all, it was rather all a bit gross and there was too much very explicit talk for me. I also wasn’t really invested in the story. Very sad about this, because I had expected to love it, but maybe those expectations were too high.

I did like some aspects, like the representation of anxiety and grief and that Zaf was a very soft boy. I also liked the aspect that was Dani’s academic life.

I absolutely loved these characters! Talia Hibbert always does them justice. I especially appreciated the bi representation :) I’m new to the fake dating trope and she did this so well. It never got annoying or weird. LOVED this.

Ruined by the narrator. Want to buy the ebook, because the story was nice.
