Way way too long and the pacing was off. Way way too slow.
The good:
Characters and plot are interesting, world building as well.

The bad:
Way too long and it drags. (In the time it took me to get to 25% I could have read the first 1-2 book/s in an urban fantasy series.

The review/details:
The author has an obsession with the semicolon. At first I couldn't figure out why the pacing felt so off. Then I realised she used a semicolon on every page. EVERY PAGE. At first I thought maybe it was a chapter fluke so I did a search for ";"
I literally searched how many times it came up. I read it through the horrible iOS Books app (where this book was free) so it didn't do a search count, but there were at least as many as there were pages in the book.

More than half the sentences were in this style(made up examples not quotes)

X had hair of copper and eyes of violet; useful when trying to blah blah blah.
Or

I made a full breakfast (plus two lines about breakfast); then some random add on that goes for another sentence.

From the synopsis an example (it works here but imagine 1/3 of the sentences written in this style: "We're both warriors; he's a lord of the Wild Hunt of Fairy, and I'm an extinguisher—a psychic soldier trained from birth to protect our world from his kind.").

If someone just took a red pen and slashed through everything after her semicolons, it would be much more readable.

Then there is the writing style - clearly unedited and inexperienced. POV is first person which I love but it was written like a "dear diary" /or letters to a pen pal trying to be PBS for tweens.

Overall I felt like this was an unedited fan fiction with an extra helping of overdone tropes, (for instance, there were some creatures that were reminiscent of Nac Mac Feagles and I wouldn't be surprised if the author read a lot of YA fantasy and stuff like Twilight),  totally not ready for prime time. With a good editor and really honest beta readers (who are NOT teenagers and not fans of Twilight) this could be great... If someone manages to take away her semi-colon key.

TL;DR
Foundation is there but the book needs a really good editor, and no access to the semicolon key.

Kinda interested in the over all plot and worlds, but equally this book had WAY too much telling, not showing, the characters lacked chemistry and depth, and even though I enjoyed the inclusion of all the different types of faeries, the fact that the main characters didn’t feel very fairy-fied was disappointing.

Ever watch a movie trailer and get excited, only to watch the movie and realize the best of it was the trailer? That's this book for me. The blurb sounds soooo good, but the reality was not so good. The writing is amateurish and repetitive and the characters lack development. The world-building isn't bad, but it just felt like it was thrown at the reader instead of flowing naturally throughout the story. Considering the book's length, there was plenty of time for development of what could've been a great story. Sadly, the blurb is the best of it and the book left me disappointed.

Awesome

Usually when I find a book that I really love, I tend to stop reading for a while and start imagining how it could continue. How the kick ass heroine could be more of a kick ass in the future. That makes me happier and happier every time that I keep reading the story. That is the effect that an awesome book has on me. And not every book that I come around has that effect. So this books definitely deserves the 5 stars review. It made me happier and more enthralled as I was reading it.

While the address Twilight Princess made me think of Zelda rather than vampires...lol, I really found this a fun and original read. There's lots of excitement and Seren is an interesting young woman who makes an awesome main character. I really like the transition from Extinguisher to Fairy Princess (that sounds corny but it works), and finding a way to balance those two existences. The ideas of what is good and what is bad is not _too_ preachy but a good reminder to look at individuals rather than the whole and being judgmental. (Good timing for that). That's a long discussion right there. Seren makes mistakes and owns up to them, and realizes how much she needs to learn. The romance is convincing, and I like the secondary characters as well. Recommend.

Crazy amount of information all shoved into one book. Wish it would’ve progressed a little slower to be given a chance to really get to know the characters. Yes it’s a great story line just too fast paced for me. There seemed to be more emphasis placed on how everything looked rather than the flow of the story. Plus it’s disappointing that the story ended at 74% of the book with the rest being sneak peeks of other books.

This story begins when the heroine gets a strange job from the Fairy council to assassinate one of their own. She knows this is very odd and that something is not right with it. But, she must continue on with her father's wishes. However, when the truth comes out her whole world will be thrown out of wack.

This was very good. I enjoyed the plot line and I really liked the main characters as well. The only thing that sort of worries me is the heroine will be cheated on. I don't know this for sure, but I'm scared it could happen and I hate that. But, I will keep reading and crossing my fingers that it won't happen.

Amazing

I love this book. It's funny, real and heartbreaking all at the same time. I can't wait to read more.
