I felt like this was a better sequel to The Gospel of Loki than The Testament of Loki.
This book started out simple, then the storyline got very complicated with so many different characters all doing different things. Sometimes you get lost on one storyline, which then made the following chapters hard to focus and understand.
When Modi is introduced, you kind of get where the the storylines are going, but there are a few unexpected twists near the ending.

okay. overall felt like an attempt at Terry Prachett that didn't quite make it.
pros:
- the worldbuilding is the strongest bit, probably. It's extensive and clearly a lot of thought went into it.
- the plot is pretty twisty too and i did admire some of the cleverness.
- it does well at showing how tricksy Loki is, and not just telling us. he does lie and manipulate. all of the gods seem to be out for themselves and were pretty interesting
- i did want to know how it turned out
- the description of the netherworld was pretty cool
cons:
- just dragged the whole way a bit, too much exposition or something.
- i also guessed several of the "twists" i guessed Maddy was a god, that one-eye was odin, that certain plot points would happen, etc.
- Maddy also annoyed me, esp. at the start. She's just cruel in how she tortured Sugar for information, mocked his name and i struggled to root for her at all. Definitely rooted more for loki, so why wasn't he just the main character? Maddy wasn't passive, at least, and she did some tricking of her own, but she just wasn't interesting or charming or *anything*.
- oh and it mocked Loki wearing a dress which was dumb as shit.
so, i read it but it dragged and idk if i can be bothered to read the next in the series
