I expected more thrill and chill from the book. I'm not a fan of the style, but it was interesting nonetheless.

A slog. A real panicky, overstuffed, and uninteresting slog.

First time actually reading Hercule Poirot, I love the TV version. Atmosphere, tension and great characters.

I don’t have too much to say, but this isn’t my favorite Agatha Christie book I’ve read.
I think it was longer than it needed to be and because of that it was often slow and repetitive. I found it to be a bit predictable and wasn’t as intrigued by the characters as I usually am with Christie’s other books.
I read the whole thing today (a Halloween themed murder mystery for Halloween!) and if I didn’t have that self-inflicted pressure on me it might have taken me a lot longer to finish, lol.
If you’re a big Agatha Christie fan and enjoy the Hercule Poirot books, I’d still recommend giving it a read during spooky season for fun, just don’t take it too seriously or expect to be blown away by it!

probably my least favorite christie book…. read this for halloween time but it was barely a halloween book, they were at a halloween party when the murder happens so there was no halloween vibes aside from that. i was going to dnf it halfway through and i wish i had, the end wasn’t shocking or thrilling and i feel like i wasted my time… do not recommend
