This is about 1/3 neurology stuff, 1/3 personal memoir, and 1/3 a self help book.
It was interesting, well written and mostly okay.
But it would also be really easy to rip this book to shreds based on the weird sort of privileged life the author leads and the ways she talks about it as if it were awful. Pretty early on, she spends a long time explaining how she does nothing but work and doesn't have any sort of a social life and then explains how she had a health revelation during a river-rafting vacation in Peru. So if that sort of stuff bothers you maybe skip this one.

I didn't want a memoir - I wanted what the book and publicity for the book promised which was just the program. Every time the author began a sentence with "I" my hackles rose. She's great at presenting the science in an engaging way but I want a hard edit version of JUST the science without any of her facile and unelucidating anecdotes and personal asides.

At first, I was confused -- was this a memoir or a lay-person's book on neuro-science.
It was essentially both, but ultimately I really enjoyed it listening to her journey and her 4-minute recommendations to improve your brain and life. I'd recommend it.

Half memoir (predominantly about dating and exercise) and half neuroscience overview. Author is very adamant everyone needs exercise and meditation to improve quality of life.

This book can't decide if it is a memoir of single life in NYC or a neuroscience textbook.
I rarely abandon books but I gave this one up at 49% and can't recommend it, but do find interviews with Suzuki interesting and informative.

I listened to the audiobook and loved it!
There is some great scientific information paired with personal reflection.
