I was expecting this book to be really good, but I was unfortunately disappointed.  It felt really slow to me and all of the names were so "exotic" that it was rather hard to read and it slowed down my pace. Also, the character that you are reading the POV of mentions that he is a warlord a little to often. Later in time I might pick this book up again, and try to read it again, but for now I'm putting it back on the shelf.

At this point I'll stop giving TWs because if you've made it to book five you already know 😂. I absolutely love aethelflaed and the development with her character (if you know, you know), but at this point I do start missing Uhtred's Danish side.. Bernard Cornwell can really write a battle scene though and I appreciate how concise and short he keeps his novels.
