Sarah (writer), Kate (real estate agent) and Jack (house contractor) have refused to get involved in another murder case. But when you live in a small town what you want to do may not be your choice. People, afraid of being accused, start showing up in the middle of the night asking the trio to clear their name. Soon their curiosity and fate has them in the thick of past secrets. This is a perfect light (contemporary) mystery/romance read. I listened to this one on audio and enjoyed the narrator.

Another nice installment of the Medlar mystery series. This is an enjoyable read. The audiobook was a relaxing listen.

I’m trying to be more discerning in the 5 stars that I give, so for this 4.5 star one I rounded down. This is my second Jude Deveraux book to read and I loved it. I adore Sarah, Kate, and Jack and their chemistry. The mystery is shocking and pulls you in. Each character that is introduced has a history that connects you to their story and leaves you wanting to know more. I can’t wait til the next book in the Medlar Mystery Series.

I’m undecided on whether to read her other books - I’m a cozy mystery lover not really a romantic novel lover.

Loved this book. Love the chemistry between Jack and Kate. I hope there will be another book with these characters and they finally end up together.

I can't believe I have now read two of these books and there is NO ROMANCE. I love Jude Deveraux for the romance novels. I love even more when she mixed romance with mystery.... but this is the most drawn out unromantic series ever. I don't know if I can take another Medlar Mystery...

This is the second book in a series, and I hadn’t read the first one. Usually that’d be no problem in a detective/mystery series, but this one alludes to the previous novel quite a bit. Also, there are a lot of characters. Many are introduced in the first novel, and having skipped that one, I felt like I needed to write all of the characters and their interconnected-ness.

As for the mystery, it was slightly interesting, but convoluted with all the characters. An older lady is killed in three different ways: shot, stabbed and poisoned. Three murderers or one over enthusiastic murderer?
