I have watch the netflix show... maybe a bit too often, I love it so much. And I don't know why it took me so long to pick up the book as it appears... I love that even more!

Note to self: you love Christmas and cheesy romance stories, do read them more often

I thought it was pretty good. I mean after reading this book, I learned that it might be easier to trick your parents than most would probably think. And that reading many books can torture a person into insanity if chosen the right book. (Haven't read or had it done to me but, the threats sounded pretty real to me.) It also made me think that just because that others think your mad doesn't mean that you aren't saner than them.

Love the language gymnastics in the book. The author knows how to write some great lines.

Cute! Very classic grumpy meets sunshine with a storytelling element (communicating via notebook) that fills the reader with just as much yearning and anticipation as the characters have. I didn’t like either of our MCs (I liked Lily but irl my guess would be that I couldn’t stand her), but it didn’t bother because they felt real and I learned enough about them to appreciate them as fully formed characters. Lots of the side characters were really fun, and this fictional small town version of NYC was a fun world to fall into. The pacing was rough, I found myself skimming through some pages near the end when the characters started talking in circles. There were a lot of diary-esque entries that were carrying the emotional weight that instead ending up dragging and feeling like I didn’t need to read them and could wait for the action if the story to happen. I might pick up another in the series next holiday season.
