It’s a fun Christmas novel with a super cute premise, but the characters aren’t super likeable. The series is a lot more fun.

It’s nothing new, but it is a lighthearted read to end the year with.

The kind of pretentious teenagery I would have adored as a teen myself, so reading this was like peeking into my past. Absolutely would have projected all my mannerisms into Lily for a solid two years.

My second time reading this book! It’s so festive and cozy, perfect for the Christmas season! Oh, to pass letters with a cute boy in NYC during Christmastime! 🥰 It’s the goal! (also, this is a sort of grumpy/sunshine book so, a+++)

I admit it, the push to read this was the desire to watch the Netflix series over the holidays. It was light, romantic, sweet, and heartfelt. And funny. Lily is particularly endearing - just quirky enough to be fabulous but still believable. There’s an offbeat, sometimes introspective feeling to this one, and a great sense of place. I’m all set for the adaptation and even plan to pick up the sequel next year.
