Sense and Sensibility is an Austen classic and I enjoyed the telling through Rosamund Pike's voice.

One of the best Austen books with Elinor reflecting her later heroine- Anne from Persuasion and Marianne reflecting Northanger Abbeys Catherine.

I liked this book???
It was kind of a mixed bag for me.
It was jane austen's first novel and even her first novel was a blast. I just had some issues with a couple of things.

The characterization of elinor and marianne was near perfect, but for me personally they were less compelling characters than her other works. I liked elinor better at times but then there were times I was just mad at her.

And for the love of god am I the only one who finds Colonel Brandon's " feelings" towards marianne a little creepy and gross(though I suppose it was not that big of a deal at the time). He was a thirty five years old adult and she was seventeen!!!! It just grosses me out!!!!

Edward was okayish!!! Jane austen's other love interest are far more interesting.
I really liked the characterization of that shit piece of a man willoughby.

The writing was soo good its hard to believe it to be austen's first published work. Though its not nearly as good as pride and prejudice or persuasion , it is still soo good!!!
I really loved austen's commentary on poverty and money and marriage and how these things were
Jane austen's work showcases these fiercely modern ideas and stories(in general) that they will always remain timeless and I'm loving it.
