This book was great, I really enjoyed how it showed the perspective of Sadie and the podcast to really show how people though of her and what she thought. I finished this slowly except the last 100 pages which I finished pretty quickly. It was nice and fast paced but it was also focusing on really important subjects. Like the sexual assault towards literal CHILDREN 5 YEAR OLDS is DISGUSTING.  This book wasn't the best book ever but not the worst but not average, it was just a good solid book with an important message. one thing to critisise though. WHAT IS THAT ENDING. I can see why, it's more realistic but like UGHHH.

This book is heavy.
I don't think I have the strength to hold it.

i've been reading books with a different formatting recently and i love that this one was half podcast and half narration. especially when sadie's chapters repeated things that had been established in the podcast episodes; i thought it was a really cool way of experiencing her story in a more clinical setting versus her own personal version of it. as for the story itself, it made me so very sad. i feel conflicted about claire. on one hand, i'm sympathetic — addiction is a horrible thing and in this case was very much a product of environment and circumstances; but on the other hand, as someone who's experienced having a relative struggle with addiction and take everyone else down with them, i hate her. now keith? there's a very special place in hell reserved for him and his awful friend silas. in the end, i feel mostly conflicted and upset; the story wrapped up in a way that left me with little answers, which i'm sure was the point, and grieving for those girls. overall a pretty heavy story, but well written and i thought the topic was handled appropriately.

This was simultaneously gut-wrenching and compelling.  I was cheering for Sadie the whole way.  I haven't read a book with a stuttering MC before.  This made Sadie even more vulnerable than her stolen childhood and was possibly a direct result. (?) I cried for her mother.  All too believable, so I'm going to put a 15+ sticker on our school Library copy.  Not sure any of our students will CHOOSE to read this?
