dnf @ 75%. It took me 6.5 months to read 285 pages out of 380. Why didn’t I just push through and read the last 95 pages you ask? Because I couldn’t care less about the storyline and characters. It also didn’t help that I couldn’t remember anything. This book was a huge disappointment because I really enjoyed books 1 and 2. From what I can remember about Heart on Fire, is that the plot fell flat and every character was kinda annoying.

@43%, the main couple, Griffin and Cat, do something SO TSTL and so out-of-character, that I feel insulted by the author. 2.5 books and hours of listening feel wasted.

Took a break and came back to it. The last 50% of the book had so many words. It felt like filler. And when I got to the end and realized she didn't wrap up storylines because companion series, the annoyance that made me stop at the halfway mark rebounded back with a vengeance. UGH!

The climax was disappointing. And those chapters of Cat in tartarus were really boring I ended up flipping through it. However the book was real fun and the beginning part with Area and the soul thing was really good. So yeah good times.

I'm not sure how I feel about this one. The ending was sort of anticlimatic after the non-stop action of the beginning of the series, but there were some big emotional moments, so...I'm torn. I thought her mother acted somewhat out of character at the end. Also, while it did wrap up the main story line, it left several secondary plot lines dangling. It makes me wonder if there's going to be future books about those characters.

Just don't even care anymore about how this series ends. Feels like this could have been 2 books with all this unnecessary action sequences
