Loved loved loved the urban fantasy world that Maas created for this series. It took me a little while to warm up to the lead characters, but the world-building and mystery plot sucked me in, and by the end I was tearing up at some of the intense character arc moments. Definitely my favorite Maas-verse book so far.

“WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK” pretty much sums up how it felt to read this book. It was such a wild ride. BRYCE IS A BADASS. Love that girl. I literally could not put this book down.

I would also like to say that Sarah had me WORKED UP when I Hunt was on the boat

I'm writing this review about a month after I finished the book so my memory is already getting a little rusty on what exactly I wanted to say, but I will say this: you either like it or you don't. My review isn't going to convince you. However, I did like it - actually I loved it! I'm not normally an urban fantasy girlie because it's hard for me to see how they can be cohesive. It usually takes me out of the story when the MC does something with technology that I would do - like use their phone or computer then use magic or fly. But honestly SJM did a really good job, although I do think I'm a little biased as I've loved everything from her so far. Not sure if I'd be able to read an urban fantasy from another author unless it was stellar - but if you have recs I'm all ears. I will def be reading the rest of this series

Soooo good! Best book I’ve read this year! So many amazing twists and turns. I really was able to see the city in my mind and picture the characters well. She did a great job detailing everything and building the world and the adventure story!

I was hesitant going into this because I’ve heard it’s slow to get into the first 100 pages or so but I was hooked. SJM never disappoints and I am hooked. I loved so many hatcher’s & I loved that I kept making guesses but also was still surprised by everything. I felt too many feels in this and may have shed a tear or two (or a hundred) but wow. LIGHT IT UP
