The puzzles were intriguing and I enjoyed the chase for the answer to the big question of “why Avery” but actually got left hanging at the end of the book as it doesn’t give you a full answer. I found this pretty unsatisfying as I just read the whole book and wanted to see the end! I feel like I’ve read 85% of the way through and the last 3 chapters are missing. 😂

I did think the mysteries were a bit ominous and exciting with an eery edge to them which I liked. I think it was fun and clever. The red herrings and distractions were well placed I believe and got me a few times which was fun. 😂😁

Aaaand this book gets the *Most Repetitive Book I Ever Read In My Entire Life* award. This book is so dumb, and the author apparently thinks the readers are even dumber because everything in the book is very obvious and then repeated a million times just in case and then explained in detail 20 times after that. The characters are all flat and walking cliches, the boys are interchangeable, Avery is stupid and annoying and horny for the boys just like they are horny for her and there was just too much teenage hormones for my taste. Repetitive, annoying, predictable, a lot of teen drama and on top of all of that nothing is even resolved in this book whatsoever.
I hated it but I also will be reading the sequel when it comes out because I also hate myself apparently.
