Wow. What a poor piece of writing. The characters were all perfect. The perfect beauty. The perfect ex-Seal. The perfectly doting grandfather. The main character's flaws included her poor-ness, which was sold as an effect of her perfect selflessness. Even the divorced couple had a perfectly friendly relationship. Everything was just so ... perfect. Making everyone so perfectly dull.
And the plot. Also not great. Several issues with it, but not worth going into spoilery detail.

Admito que fiquei desiludida com este livro. Gosto da escrita de Allende, da sinceridade e verdade que fluem das suas palavras, mas esta tentativa de escrever um thriller, revelou-se num romance soft, demasiado descritivo (com descrições nem sempre relevantes) com homicídios de fundo. Pouco depois de ler metade do livro, cruzei-me com uma passagem que me fez perceber, de imediato, quem era a pessoa homicida. Acaba por perder a graça e torna-se algo monótono. Esperava mais, até porque a base da história está engraçada, mas terminar um enredo daqueles com um mini, mini epílogo é estranho e incomodativo para mim.

i just wanted to finish it, i read 270 pages in one sitting lol.
The end was so good, i wouldve putten 4 starts, but the start wasnt that good. I did liked how it ended tho. But the character description was not it, there were so many characters and i was so confused at the beginning with who is who, and she described characters that werent even relevant to the story. I think that was what got me most bored.
