Had to do the re-read before the movie comes out. This book makes me sad, and hopeful. It portrays an America I wish I lived in, and a Texas I wish existed. Rarely do books give me extreme feelings, but this one makes me tear up.

This book is a sweet, little romance and I wasn’t expecting to like it at all. The characters are fun, the story is written to make it all easy to read. The book was a little too long for what the premise is, but it did wrap up rather well. The twist was predictable and I didn’t find the political side of the story too overbearing.

The last 3 chapters.. the last 3 chapters.. talk about a huge range of emotions for me! This was so good, truthfully so good. I loved the inclusion of historical letters and the way they tackled everything

I loved everything about this book. It has humor, romance, politics, likable characters, basically everything you could want in a book. I’m excited to watch the upcoming movie adaptation on Prime. I hope it does justice to the book.
