Though I loved the worldbuilding and the dystopian feel of a S. Francisco after climate disaster has changed the bay forever, I was not sold on the relationship between the MCs. There was positively no chemistry between them, for me as a reader, it was all way too rushed and incoherent, the author didn't bother pacing and building upon their feelings of attraction for each other, which for my personal taste and preferences ruined much of the narrative.
