I was truly surprised by how much I would love this book. Its different from Pride and Prejudice(my personal favorite) but just the same amazing. It is the perfect romantic sarcastic abr comedic drama, which expresses Austen's writing in the best light!

Ok, imma be honest, I almost didn't finish this book -- but I'm glad I did!

In the average Jane Austen novel there are plentiful amounts of character you hate, and even ones you love to hate, but there are always at least 2-3 characters that you love. For the first half of this book there were NO characters that were even kind of ok. Emma was constantly making such a mess and it was painful to read.
By about half way through, however, there are some kinda good characters that enter, Emma *starts* learning her lesson and being a more interesting character, and you get to see more good sides of Mr. Knightly. By the end, there are actually some pretty decent characters and it's a pretty fun book.

TLDR; I ended up enjoying, but didn't think I would.

More slow going I found than other Jane Austen novels. Still enjoyed reading it.
