In the aftermath of her parents' split, Evangeline discovers a stack of romance novels and self-help books under her mother's bed. After reading them all, a book called The Crimson Kiss inspires her to experience her own perfect kiss. Her journey takes her to some unexpected places and has some unexpected consequences.

Overall, a light read, but with some surprising depth, especially the subplot with her cheating dad.

Probably the worst book I’ve ever read. I enjoyed it less than Twilight even. At least Twilight was hard to put down even though it was terrible.

I’ll probably come across something worse sometime in the future, but for now, this book was shit.

As the person who told me about this book says "It's very pink". definitely a girl book, in other words. There are a few rare boys who would read it, but not many.
Evangeline is cleaning the house when she discovers her mothers stash of bodice ripper romance novels. She actually reads one of them, once she gets past her initial astonishment. The description of the perfect kiss that happens in the story catches her attention and she begins her own quest to find the perfect kiss. She starts kissing any boy she can - and starts getting a bit of a reputation in the process.
There is a good storyline about friendship, divorce, and forgiveness throughout that somehow manages not to feel preachy.
A quick, fun read.

Without meaning to, this has become my comfort book. It's probably the only book I have reread at least once and can (and will) reread whenever I need a dose of safety. Also just because it references princess bride.

Enjoyed this. It was a fun exploration of what happens when a girl owns her power (some good things, some bad things).
