I didn’t love this Agatha Christie mystery. I found it a little boring and the reveal at the end to be a bit lackluster- I still don’t quite understand the “motive” of the killer. I was hoping this would give more Halloween vibes given the title but it really doesn’t at all. It also has quite a bit of out of date language and characters (Christie doesn’t seemed to view highly of women). Overall it was just eh for me.

I really struggled with this book and if I'd have been largely ynaurpiaed if told that Christie hadn't actually written this one.

I did start this book a year or two ago, but it was when I was fairly new to Christie, and I couldn't get into the plot at all. So I had a break and have come back to it with more context.

But I wish that I hadn't

Repetitive. Lacking colour. Flat characters. The length of the book was too long for the listless plot. Annoyingly, I made it to the end just to find out that the suspicious feck character/s were behind it as expected.

Yes. Did not enjoy this one at all.

First Agatha Christie book. 3rd person, very slow start for me, personally. I did fall asleep a couple times while trying to finish it. It wasn't up until the reveal that I was actually wanting to read it. I wasn't expecting who it was at all and this is the longest it has taken to finish a book in a while.

This book has none of the shock, or cunning writing I'm used to seeing with Christie's books. It was a very basic and boring murder mystery with a predictable ending, unfortunately.

Really enjoyed playing along with Poirot trying to solve this mystery. The audio narrated by Hugh Fraser was great, but I didn't like reading in print also to flip back and forth. Be careful which Halloween parties you attend!
