I know I said like two books ago that I was actually starting to enjoy this series despite only listening it because my bf wanted to, but I take it back. I Did Not Like This Book. The whole "going back to school thing" was boring to me, and the whole Debbie situation was very uncomfortable, unconvincing, and made Darren into the most annoying character in the whole book. I hope this was just a flop book and the rest of the series is as fun as the previous books. Otherwise the next four books will painful.

A breath of fresh air from the last book, while hunters of dusk was slow and a lot of setting up this book went for the jugular with reappearances of characters that haven’t been around in a while and a fast paced plot. Sped through this one with ease, it kept me turning pages. Along with trials of death and vampire prince this is one of the best in the series so far in my opinion.

Even though this book was mainly about the characters travelling around to try and find the Vampeneze Lord, there was a lot of action and comedy which made it an enjoyable read.

First off was the fact that Darren was forced to go to school, which I found hilarious since he didn't have a clue what was going on in his classes. I also liked that we were reunited with Debbie, and not left to wonder what had happened to her since she had just disappeared off the face of the book.

Lots of action, lots of fighting and a bit of romance. Plus, the ending was a MAJOR cliffhanger, such a good way to end a book if you want to keep the audience hooked. On to the next one!
