Stumbled upon this letter and I'm so glad. A hauntingly beautiful analysis of what is to be "black" in a United States run and controlled by "Dreamers".

✨ Thrifted ✨

I was expecting this to be challenging. Ta-Nehisi Coates’s name kept appearing on black authors’ books I loved, so I knew this was one I had to try.

It being scripted as a letter to his son was so striking and thought-provoking, but also brought a slight tear to my eye 🥲 I can only imagine how heartbreaking this was to write.

Very much based around the racism of America (but interestingly touching upon being a black American person in France too), this needs content warnings which I’ll post below.

Thank you ❤️
