So usually I'm not super observant about illustrations in books, but damn these are amazing. They enhance an already amazing novel. Eva Nine is a likeable character who you root for the entire time; I couldn't (and cannot) get enough of this book. I really loved it and will read it for many years, again and again.

I like this book. And I like most of the illustrated book and it's fantasy so, it combines everything that I like together. But I just don't really related to the book. Actually, I don't feel anything for this book. I just like it and I really love finding more about this world. But somehow I find this one pretty simple for me. It is predictable but rather lovely.

Yes. Yes, yes, yes!

Ok, so seriously, I absolutely loved this book. I found out about this book through the Shelf Awareness newsletter and tagged it as a To-Read for some time in the future, thinking I would read it as I came to it on my list. But, my library has a giant display of suggested books right as you walk in the door and there it was! So, I figured that was meant to be and I grabbed it right up and brought it home!

With it's gorgeous illustrations and a main character determined to figure her world out, this is the perfect book for kids of any age. In fact, I would consider purchasing it as a gift for my daughter and any sci-fi/fantasy fan in the future!

Can't wait to read the second in the series!

(The augmented reality maps are also a wonderful addition to this book!)

4.5. I love that the story has so much more development to go. It's a good start to a trilogy.

Fun, fun, and more fun! DiTerlizzi crafts a quirky and unusual world with lots of new creatures. I really enjoyed this adventure.

I loved this book and I am so glad I gave the series a shot. This was a book I picked up ages ago simply because I loved the cover. It wasn't till later that I realized that this book and series was done by the same author of The Spiderwick Chronicles. This only added to my excitement once I started reading. The story is a wonderful blend of science fiction and adventure. I often find far too many of our current Science Fiction novels follow the dystopian format. This book was refreshing and so enjoyable. Eva Nines is a wonderful protagonist and her adventure is both exciting and heart wrenching. I can't wait to read more from this series. It is nice to find a science fiction series of such quality for elementary readers. I know students will love this book and fall in love with the beautiful illustrations as well.
